54 Marcus Clarke St Pod Remediation

AMA Projects were engaged to perform rectification works to external timber eaves and soffts on levels 7 and 8 of 54 Marcus Clarke St, Canberra City.

Works included:

• replacement of the timber with FC sheeting and staining the sheeting to give the timber ‘look and feel’
• re-firing timbers back into square, sanding and staining
• modifying the drip edges to existing overhanging roof sheets to improve the existing edges to prevent future water damage

Accessing the building to perform such significant works at height posed a unique challenge which was overcome by counter-levering scaffold from within the building. This allowed full access to the necessary external areas and kept workers safe within the confines of handrails and safety mesh.

In this, the works saw existing timber replaced with stained FC sheet and hardy board to resemble existing timber plates and finishes to reduce ongoing maintenance.
