Privacy Policy

1.0 Purpose

AMA projects (ABN 52 141 420 680) commits to ensuring the protection of your personal data in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 2000[1] and the Australian Privacy Principles[2] (APP). This Privacy Policy outlines information relating to how AMA Projects, collects, uses, stores and maintains your personal information in all forms.

The purpose of this policy is to describe:

  • from whom we collect personal information
  • the types of personal information collected by us
  • how the information is collected and held by us
  • the specific purposes for which the personal information is collected, held, used and disclosed
  • the disclosure of personal information
  • the way which personal information can be accessed to make corrections

When a person provides AMA Projects with personal information, they consent to AMA Projects collecting, maintaining, using and disclosing this information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, including the option to deal with AMA Projects without identifying themselves in certain circumstances (i.e. a general enquiry about AMA Projects).

All information sought by AMA Projects is obtained for an explicit and specific business purpose, and only the minimum level of information is obtained in order to complete that specific business-related activity or service. AMA Projects does not actively seek personal information unless required for business purposes – if this action is required, it will be done in accordance with the APP.

AMA Projects collects personal information from staff, clients, suppliers, subcontractors and consumer data.

3.0 Types of Personal Information Collected

AMA Projects collects personal information for specific business activities/services from persons who have made an exchange with us This is achieved by the collection of the minimum amount of information possible in order to complete each activity.

Sensitive information will only be collected with explicit consent unless the collection of this information is required to prevent a serious threat to your health or safety.

In some instances, individuals may be able to deal with AMA Projects without identifying themselves, if such a person chooses this option, they will need to contact AMA Projects to find out if this is practicable.

4.0 Collection of Personal Information

AMA Projects collects your personal information in the following ways:

  • Provide a hard copy or digital application or form.

When you browse the AMA Projects website, you will be doing so anonymously without providing any personal information. Some statistical information about website visitors is collected (e.g. the number of visitors, country of origin, time online etc.) This information is used to evaluate the performance of our website and improve our services where necessary. We do not collect any identifying information, unless you choose to supply it to use through our website forms, by email, by phone or in person. By contacting us through forms on our website, you are actively asking us to contact you by any of the methods you have provided (i.e. phone or email).

As a requirement of ongoing business arrangements AMA Projects may obtain personal information for the purposes of contact during the natural course of a project or similar business activity. This information will typically be limited to the information listed above. If additional personal information is required (other than what is listed above) AMA Projects will make a specific request in writing including the purpose for which the information is required.

Personal information collected throughout the recruitment process will be limited only to information necessary for the assessment of suitability for a position and/or to make further contact in order to assess an application. Personal information from unsuccessful applicants will be deleted in accordance with legislative requirements. In some instances, unsuccessful applicants’ personal information may be maintained for the purposes of talent pooling for future positions providing the individual has approved this information being stored.

By supplying us personal information, you consent to us collecting and storing this information, as well as any further information that may be supplied by you to follow up on enquires and best service your needs.

5.0 Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

AMA Projects will only use personal information for the purpose for which is was originally provided.

Storage and Security of Personal Information

AMA Projects will take all steps reasonably practicable to ensure that personal information is protected from any security breaches including:

  • unauthorised access
  • unauthorised modification
  • disclosure to a third-party

Access to personal information will be strictly limited on a ’need to know’ basis, meaning only employees who have a specific business reason to view personal information will have access. In accordance with legislative requirements, AMA Projects will take all steps required to opt-out, destroy or de-identify any personal information as required by law.

All personal information collected by us are stored in a variety of formats including electronically in databases, in hard copy files and on personal devices including laptop computers, mobile phones and other devices. We will not store personal information for longer than required or legally limited to, and when it is no longer required it will be deleted from the database.

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the information is accurate and up to date. However, no data protection and security measures are completely secure. Despite all the measures in place, we cannot guarantee the security of your information, particularly in relation to transmissions over the internet.

Access and correction to personal information

An individual can at any time request for access to personal information held by AMA Projects. Requests can be made by contacting AMA Projects’ nominated Privacy Officer, Andrew Peereboom, Company Director (info@amaprojects.com.au) and will be actioned within 24-48 hours.

The same process applies should an individual wish to make changes to personal information held by AMA Projects.

6.0 Complaints about Personal Information

If an individual considers that their personal information has been misused in any way by AMA Projects, and official complaint can be made by contacting the AMA Projects Privacy Officer Andrew Peereboom (Company Director) by emailing info@amaprojects.com.au.

Where an individual feels their complaint was not handled to their satisfaction, they have the right to submit a formal complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner[3].

7.0 Review and Amendments to the Policy

AMA Projects takes privacy seriously and ensures all practicable steps are taken to protect personal information in accordance with the APP and the Australian Privacy Act 2000.

AMA Projects commits to reviewing this policy every 12-months and adjust as necessary. Where relevant, AMA Projects will notify individuals of changes to this policy if it requires their consent.
