IP Australia is an organisation that prides itself on fostering innovation across Australia. The Pilot Flexible Work Environment Project, delivered by AMA Projects, helps to foster innovation within the organisation.
Underpinning the design for the flexible work environment was the idea that staff would be decoupled from their desks and they would choose the work setting that best meets their needs for the day, whether it be an open collaborative space, whether it be a focus space or whether it be an informal space.
To successfully deliver a flexible working environment such as this there were two critical requirements. A mobile IT solution was required and this needed to be supported by a fully ergonomically adjustable workstation.
Collaboration was also a key to this new workplace. There are many different areas for the staff to work. There are phone booths, collaboration pods, breakout areas and also the oasis where people can sit back, relax and have conversations. The area refurbished was located within IP’s offices at Discovery House adjacent to operational work areas. As such all construction work was delivered after hours to minimise any disruption to staff. Featured in Canberra Times.
