AMA Projects were engaged to complete the demolition of an existing tenancy fitout in Brisbane, Qld, and reconfigure the base build to accommodate a new, open plan, 550m2 tenancy fitout.

A number of innovations and value adds were applied through the duration of the project including:

  • rapid procurement and commencement onsite, leading to a quick turnaround from client engagement to start on site, so the required handover date was achieved. This was also helped through the relationship management with subcontractors both local and interstate
  • adjusting the lift lobby to eliminate wasted space, increasing the lettable area for the client
  • flexibility to conduct in-house design and documentation to expedite the design process.

Scheduling noisy works was a challenge, as the tenant on the below floor was a prominent free-to-air and cable news studio, operating from 5am – 10pm, seven days a week. Robust fatigue management plans and coordination of trades and works enabled site supervision and works to continue throughout without disruption to the construction program or other tenant operations.
