AMA Projects was engaged by DFAT to provide 2 months of Project Management Services inside Australia that included assisting in the Engagement of the Head Works Contractor and leading the Procurement for the supply of specialist security materials and services that were to be shipped to Abuja. Following that, AMA Projects were engaged to provide 6 months of Project Management Services in Abuja that included on-site management and coordination of the Head Works Contractor and all Sub-Contractors to ensure all works were undertaken in accordance with the head works contract that met the relevant codes, cost plan, budget, quality, IT, and Security requirements that DFAT requested.

The project involved:

  • the total refurbishment of the existing building and adjoining annex
  • supply and installation of all new power, data and communications cabling and infrastructure
  • minor demolition and reconfiguration of internal walls and doors and new paint treatments applied throughout both internally and externally
  • extensive security lighting was installed to entire compound and to the external walls
  • the existing water treatment plant removal and disposed, existing above ground water tanks cleaned/sanitised and linked up to new pumps and inground pipeworks
  • installation of extensive CCTV camera infrastructure within the compound
  • additional security elements to ensure compliance was met with DFAT’s oversea’s requirements.
