AMA Projects was engaged to deliver a range of works at Fitzroy North Primary School in Victoria. This includes the extension of the south side of the Block A building, and the upgrade of the teaching spaces in Block A; Minor works in Block B; Roof upgrade works; landscaping; and service upgrades.

Works included demolition; hazardous material removal; concreting, masonry, and structural steel works; installation of roofing, insulation, doors and framing, windows and glazing; installation of external cladding; new floor finishes; installation of suspended ceilings and floor finishes; sheeting and painting; installation of FF&E; installation and commissioning of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and security services and landscaping.

Due to a significant number of latent conditions and weather delays with the new build portion of the project, AMA Projects coordinated with stakeholders to split this portion of work into a different stage, so that the internally refurbished spaced could be handed over and occupied by the school ahead of the new build extension portion of the project.

To mitigate disruptions to ongoing school operations and prioritise the wellbeing of students, works that are disruptive or noisy were accelerated during school holiday programs.
