AMA Projects was engaged to deliver a range of works at Greenhills Primary School in Victoria. This includes the demolition and construction of a new gym building featuring a basketball court; an extension to the existing administration building with additional ablutions, first aid rooms, and meeting rooms; refurbishment of ablutions; landscaping; and service upgrades.

Works included demolition; hazardous material removal; concreting, masonry, and structural steel works; installation of roofing, insulation, doors and framing, windows and glazing; installation of external cladding; new floor finishes; installation of suspended ceilings and floor finishes; sheeting and painting; installation of AV and FF&E; and installation and commissioning of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and security services.

During the bulk excavation of soil for the new gymnasium, the presence of asbestos in the soil was identified. AMA Projects coordinated with an engaged hygienist and stakeholders to implement a solution to remediate the soil that limited the overall time and cost impact to the project.

To mitigate disruptions to ongoing school operations and prioritise the wellbeing of students, works that are disruptive or noisy were accelerated during school holiday programs.
