AMA Projects was engaged under a Managing Contractor arrangement to deliver refurbishment and structural maintenance works to the side apartment and ambassadors residence at the Finnish Embassy in Canberra.

Internal works included demolition, installation of new partitions and makegood of existing; painting; installation of new joinery; new floor finishes and tiling; installation of new curtains and blinds; installation of new FF&E; and service infrastructure upgrades. External works included civil and landscaping works; structural roof remediation; and installation of solar panels.

Due to the age of the building, latent conditions such as end of live electrical services, hidden structural damage, and building code non-compliance issues were identified. AMA collaborated closely with subcontractors as SME’s to determine efficient and cost effective effective solutions.

AMA Projects collaborated closely with the embassy to prioritise the scope of works in order to assess potential cost savings. Exploring alternative finishes in landscaping and tiling not only enriched the project’s aesthetic appeal and functionality but also contributed directly to cost savings. As a result of these savings, approval was given to include a full renovation of master bedroom ensuite.
