AMA Projects is was engaged by the Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver fitout works for Level 2, 1 and 4 of the Sirius Building at 23 Furzer Street, Woden. The works are a continuation of the New Ways of Working Program.
Works included construction of new partition; flooring; curved feature ceilings; wall finishes; high end bespoke joinery; workstations, FF&E, artwork, and signage; and upgrade of service infrastructure to suit the new layout.
In two locations on level 1, external glazing was removed to enable both building occupant access via swipe card, and contractor access via a ramp. This enabled staff to be less impeded by the building works and have a more seamless entry, as well as contractors being able to access the building site in a less invasive way instead of through the main foyer.
AMA assisted in re-designing the skyfold door areas to enable each wall to be larger and a single functional piece instead of several. This resulted in a cost saving of the scope, as well as a more visually appealing finish.
To accelerate the program of works to achieve the nominated practical completion dates, works to levels 2 and 4 were separated into zones to stagger fit out and demolition works. This allowed for multiple trades to be operating at the site at any given time throughout the project.
