AMA Projects was engaged by the Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver fitout works for Level 6 of the Sirius Building at 23 Furzer Street, Woden. The works are a continuation of the New Ways of Working Program, designed to create a modern, flexible and healthy working environment and included construction of a new secure communications suite to zone 4 and 5 certification.
AMA Projects tackled compliance challenges with services and the feature batten ceiling through collaborative workshops with Cox Architecture and NDY Group. We strategically grouped services in communal sections, supported by a painted plywood/MDF backing for compliance.
To achieve the nominated practical completion dates, works to level 6 were separated into four zones to stagger works, a separate partitioner was assigned to the secure area, and the joinery package was split between multiple contractors, allowing for multiple trades to be operating at the site throughout the program.
Having completed two previous NWOW projects, AMA Projects pre-emptively expedited procurement of items that posed a risk to practical completion dates and presented alternative options for approval. This ensured that all furnishings were available on site within the designated timeframe.
