AMA Projects was engaged under a design and construct arrangement to deliver a new high security office fitout for a Government Client in Elizabeth Street Sydney. The new office features high quality and modern finishes and will accommodate 100 staff, with the capacity to service face-to-face and digital customers.

With the design documentation issued at 95%, AMA Projects was responsible for engaging a design team to develop the design to 100%.  With high security requirements including Zone 3 & 4 construction, this included an architect, services consultants, acoustic consultant, SCEC consultant, and certifier.  This required a considerable consultation and approval process with the Client to ensure the result was fit for purpose.

As a federal government department, a key goal for the design was to represent the department to the public and include iconic Australian landscape and Indigenous features. The design draws inspiration from the country’s coral reefs, which is reflected in the offices’ colour scheme, curvature of the joinery, indigenous art installations, and feature lighting throughout.

Gadigal Country artist Konstantina was engaged to create the artwork, as per the Reef and Beach Design Brief by the architect. Artwork was then scanned and printed on vinyl for installation throughout the office.

The perimeter of the tenancy needed to achieve an acoustic rating of Dw35 and Dw40 to Zone 4 internal spaces.  To ensure compliance, AMA Projects engaged an acoustic engineer to assist with the design completion, conduct periodic inspections and conduct final acoustic testing.
