Lump Sum
Following a lump sum tender process, AMA Projects was awarded the new build/fitout contract for the new Ecowise Facility in Hume. AMA Projects were assigned only the management of the design process, but were later entrusted with the construction phase too. This included all works ranging from initial civil trades to finishing fitout trades.
In upholding our mission statement of creating better outcomes for our clients, the AMA Projects team pre-empted the need for watertight materials on the awning signage above the front entrance. This was implemented in collaboration with the contractor to minimise joins in the finish.
Aside from the mounting effects of Covid-19 on the supply chain, one of the project’s key challenges was incompatible soil. Upon preliminary investigations of the existing conditions on site it was found the soil was unsuitable for the design as intended. A value management session was carried out to weigh the options of larger piers and footings versus soil stabilisation, of which the latter was selected. In both instances, AMA worked closely with the trades to source all materials as early as practical to ensure nil issues with the construction.
