AMA Projects were engaged to deliver a new office fitout located at the defence base, HMAS Penguin to accommodate the establishment of the MGWU.

The scope of works included:

  • DSN, DRN and DVN networks
  • Zone 2 security certification
  • ensuring the works met heritage requirements.

When works commenced on site, it was discovered the existing ICT infrastructure was non-compliant. As additional works, AMA Projects upgraded the DRN and DSN cabling to meet compliance standards. This was completed without an extension of time being granted.

Another contractor was also conducting works on site adjacent to the construction site, preventing access to the main entry doors. To accommodate this, AMA Projects installed scaffolding to provide access for subcontractors, allowing works to continue unrestricted.
